Neko Health Raises USD 700M Ahead of First US Clinic - Opening in New York
Stockholm-founded preventive health company Neko Health has closed a $700 million Series C round at a valuation of nearly $7 billion — roughly four times where it stood at its last raise eighteen months ago. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and O.G. Venture Partners, with existing backers Atomico, General Catalyst, and Lakestar returning, alongside a notably starry list of new individual investors including Mark Zuckerberg, Maria Sharapova, and Tim Ferriss.
Neko was co-founded by Spotify's Daniel Ek together with CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne, and has built its business around a proprietary, radiation-free full-body scan — roughly an hour long, built entirely on in-house hardware and software rather than licensed MRI technology. The company has already delivered more than 100,000 scans across eight clinics in Sweden and the UK, with over 350,000 people registered or waitlisted.
The new funding is earmarked specifically for the company's US entry: its first American clinic is set to open in New York later this year, with additional cities to follow. Nilsonne described the round as validation for a mission that began with a single Stockholm clinic three years ago, and said the company plans to bring that same approach to the US while continuing to invest in the research behind it.
