Nordic Knots Raises Its First Outside Capital — $100M at a $2.2B Valuation
Nordic Knots, the Stockholm-based design-led rug and home textiles brand, has raised approximately €86 million ($100 million) in its first-ever institutional funding round, valuing the company at roughly €1.9 billion ($2.2 billion). The round is led by Imaginary Ventures, the premium consumer-focused fund behind Skims and Reformation, with participation from Swedish investment firm Creades, Iris Ventures, and Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo's investment platform, St. Dominique Capital.
Founded in 2016 by Liza Berglund Laserow, her husband Fabian Berglund, and his brother Felix Berglund, the company was shaped from its earliest days by the founders' own time in New York, where Liza worked as an interior designer and Fabian as a creative director at advertising firms Anomaly and Wieden+Kennedy. Products are designed in Stockholm and handwoven in India under GoodWeave fair-labor certification. The brand already operates flagship retail stores in Stockholm, Manhattan, and London, with a Los Angeles location on the way. Sales grew 85% in 2025 versus the prior year, on trailing revenue of roughly $70 million — profitable, capital-efficient growth sustained for a decade before taking any outside capital. As Berglund Laserow put it, investors had been "knocking on our door for about five years," but the company held off until it felt ready.
The new capital is earmarked for further flagship retail expansion, alongside a broadening of the product range beyond rugs into furniture and fabric by the yard. The round marks the company's tenth anniversary, with 2026 revenue targeted to cross $100 million.
